We are seeking a talented Freelance Video Editor to join our dynamic team at The Mel Robbins Podcast. This person will play an important role in the creation of captivating content that inspires and motivates millions of people around the world.

As a video editor, you must possess a sharp eye for trends and visual design, adept at creating engaging short and long-form videos. You will be responsible for taking a piece of video content from conception to completion, crafting sequences that captivate the audience. You'll collaborate with the Post Production team to ideate engaging content concepts and transform them into brand videos.

Responsibilities:

  • Podcast Responsibilities 
    • Edit long-form, 3-camera podcast interviews captured in our Boston studio
    • Creating rough cuts, implementing feedback and changes
  • Input Music, Dialogues, Graphics and Effects
    • Collaborate on the creation of new footage utilizing new/existing video footage
    • Experiment with new and innovative editing techniques
  • Brand and Social Content Responsibilities
    • Work with the social media team to develop content on a consistent output basis
    • Creating and editing short-form video content for social media platforms
    • Creating rough cuts, determining exact cutting time for video, and edit content to ensure logical sequencing of dialogue
    • Actively participating in content planning for Mel Robbins’ social platforms
    • Develop video ads and promotional materials on an as-needed basis
    • Ensure completed work maintains the brand visual standards and quality
    • Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
    • Help maintain an organized file library and archival of all content

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of video editing experience (doesn’t have to be podcast exclusive experience)
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere
  • Experience with Descript is a plus
  • Familiarity with social platforms including, but not limited to, Instagram, YouTube/Shorts, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Able to collaborate on a vibrant team of video creators
  • Able to take direction well yet work independently with a keen eye and ear for detail
  • Self-starter and ability to work in a small team environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, assignments, and deliverables at once
  • Understanding of social media best practices and ecosystem trends is a plus
  • Experience with filming and handling of production equipment is a plus
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced, collaborative environment
