In September, when I spoke at the American Airlines Center for Nerium’s Get Real event, the Dallas Mavericks just so happened to be practicing right behind us! I’m always so impressed by professional athletes and their dedication to being the best that they can be. But here’s the thing…it’s not just pro athletes who have greatness inside of them.
Every single one of us has a spark of greatness within. I’m a Bruce Springsteen fan, and I love this lyric of his: “You can’t start a fire without a spark.”
If you want to light your fire of greatness, you must first recognize and appreciate your own spark. Then, you must cultivate it. Just like an NBA player never misses a practice, YOU can’t forget to practice in order to be the greatest player that you can be.
You need to practice daily acts of courage, of strength, and of busting through fear, self-doubt, and hesitation. You need to be bigger than your excuses. You must always believe in yourself, just like the champ that you are. You deserve it.
You are capable of so much greatness. If you want to change your life, just start pushing. It only takes one decision to start moving, 5-4-3-2-1. Take it one decision at a time. One courageous act will soon lead to two….and soon your sparks of greatness will have all of the kindling they need.
Hope to see you in your city soon!
